Timeless fine jewelry that defines elegant simplicity

Classic. Timeless. Elegant.

Pearls are among the most popular gemstones in jewelry for good reason. They give a sophisticated look that is hard to replicate and they carry a history that is to be admired. From Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (and in real life – she was a huge fan of pearls) to Coco Chanel and Jackie Kennedy, plenty of famous women have considered pearls to be their signature accessory.

Pearls are also unique in that they’re the only gem material found and formed within a living creature. Unlike most other gemstones, they require no cutting or polishing before using them and look gorgeous exactly as they form in nature.

Pearls are my own birthstone, which I thought was a bit boring when I was a little girl. Now as an adult (and jewelry designer!) however, I love them. They come in so many shapes and sizes and colors and their provenance is my favorite part of all. Pearls are formed when an irritant becomes trapped in the mollusk. The animal then coats the irritant in aragonite that forms a nacre and eventually . . . a beautiful pearl is formed! What a beautiful (literally!) picture of how God brings beauty from ashes. It’s a lovely reminder as we navigate the trials that life can bring.

In terms of care, pearls should be kept in a soft pouch, rather than an airtight container, since they need to “breathe”. Pearls are a soft stone and can get scratched if not careful. Pearls should not get wet by either showering or swimming. Pearls have a beautiful lustre that illuminates the skin and they are the birthstone for the month of June.
