Timeless fine jewelry that defines elegant simplicity

On our vacations this Summer, our boys spent quite a bit of time in their Beafish shirts and I realized that I had not yet shared about them. If you haven’t yet heard of Beafish, you really must check them out. They’re a very small company based on a very big heart. Our family loves these shirts and I’m guessing yours will, too!

The obvious best part of these performance shirts is the gorgeous artwork on the back, but the 50+ SPF and the moisture-wicking, fast drying fabric are a close second and third. All of the photos on these gorgeous shirts were taken by the talented photographer, Bill Edwards. Bill founded Bill Edwards Art and Beafish Designs nearly 15 years ago to create and produce limited edition fine art that he called PhotoArt, which was made by digitally enhancing photographs he shot. Due to his passion for fishing and the great outdoors, most of his subjects were fish that he caught and released, but he also created many pieces featuring coastal birds, architectural landmarks and more. Though Bill Edwards passed away in 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer, his widow, Jan, is continuing his legacy of love, gratitude, service, bravery and faith in Beafish Designs today. Jan is a friend of mine, as is one of Bill’s precious daughters and I’m a huge fan of this sweet family.

Beafish Designs features long-sleeve performance shirts, cotton t-shirts, face and neck gaiters and, of course, PhotoArt limited edition prints. My husband and my boys love their performance shirts. They are lightweight, cool and comfortable and boy approved, which is a huge plus for this boy mom. The boys look great in them, but they count as ”comfy athletic wear” in my boys’ minds. #momwinning I love that they are SPF 50+ and long-sleeved, so I don’t have to slather sunscreen on the arms and chest of four squirmy boys when they wear them. (Yay!) I also love the fact that they dry so quickly when they get wet. (And let’s be honest, boys get wet a LOT!)

I also love that they come in such a wide range of kids sizes, which are new this year. I’m a big fan of putting all four of my boys in the same shirt or color when we are adventuring – primarily because I can find all four of them quickly, which can be really important when hiking, fishing or running on a playground with a ton of other kids. I’m telling you, as a mom of four boys, it’s one of my better #momhacks. Write it down.

The boys wore these shirts fly fishing, to parks, to the Monterey Bay Aquarium to see the fish (I know, cute, right?), hiking near Bixby Bridge and in Joshua Tree National Park – basically all around Colorado and California this Summer. I love the way they look and they love the way they feel and you can’t beat that combination! I feel a little badly that I didn’t get my husband a matching one (and heaven knows I need to keep up with him, too!), so that’s on my to do list. And I’ve also got to snag some of those gaiters for the next time we fly fish – they’re too cute for words and they keep the sun off of your neck and face! Oh, and if you’re local to Houston, you can shop this brand in person at one of my all-time favorite stores, Bering’s.

Hop on over to the Beafish Designs website to read more about the artist, Bill Edwards, and to shop the full collection. And don’t forget to follow them on Instagram here! Keep on scrolling to see the shirts in action on our boys this Summer!

I began creating as a child with simple jewelry pieces and various art projects. Twenty years ago, I started creating jewelry for myself. It wasn’t long before friends and family began asking me to make pieces for them. Soon after, Andrea Montgomery Designs was officially born. My desire is to make timeless jewelry that makes you feel more beautiful each time you wear it -- which we hope is always! My philosophy is to WEAR THE GOOD STUFF everyday. There’s no such thing as “saving it for a special occasion” -- every day is a gift!
