Timeless fine jewelry that defines elegant simplicity

Once upon a time (a little over a year ago), there was a horrible technical glitch that took down a blog (this one). The writer of the blog was so sad that she wasn’t quite sure what to do. All of her years of writing vanished in an instant. How can it be, she cried. How? She tried and tried to revive it, to no avail. She tried asking her web designer and then asking another one and then another. She tried asking the hosting company and various other online resources, but no luck. She would get discouraged and give up and then a fire would light in her and she would try again with no luck. She almost gave up entirely and started completely over. It was so disheartening.
Obviously, the girl in the fairy tale is me and the moral of the story is – back everything up. In multiple places. And not just that, know in advance how to access and restore that backup. (That’s where my particular failure was.) But now, my blog is BACK! And I couldn’t be more excited.
Today, I had one of those days when a fire was lit under me because I had some things I wanted to share and my blog felt like the right place to do it. So, I emailed the hosting company yet again and pulled out my backup and googled yet again for guidance. And then I stopped and said a desperate prayer, pleading with God to just make the stupid thing work, because I had something to say and I was out of ideas on how to fix it. I kid you not that I clicked on the link to my blog editing website not thirty seconds after saying that prayer and up came my entire blog. All of it. Every. Single. Entry. I was floored. (But also not, because this is how God works in my life sometimes.) I could NOT figure out what had made the difference. I desperately tried to figure out how to save everything off or back it up again, thinking this must be a fluke and it could go away at any moment.
Then, the email came from the guy at the hosting company. I had forgotten I emailed him, since I’ve emailed them for help so many times over the past year and a half. But this time, I got someone different and he had a different idea and whatever he did fixed my problem and resurrected my blog! I am so, so grateful. So, here I am. It’s been a long time, but I’m back. I’ve missed you in this space, friends.

I began creating as a child with simple jewelry pieces and various art projects. Twenty years ago, I started creating jewelry for myself. It wasn’t long before friends and family began asking me to make pieces for them. Soon after, Andrea Montgomery Designs was officially born. My desire is to make timeless jewelry that makes you feel more beautiful each time you wear it -- which we hope is always! My philosophy is to WEAR THE GOOD STUFF everyday. There’s no such thing as “saving it for a special occasion” -- every day is a gift!
