The moment we pulled in to the Carneros Inn, I felt all of the stress of home melt away. This is our very first trip away from our three small children (yikes and yay at the same time!) and I’ve been a little worried about it. Oh, but the quiet drive up to the wine country with my husband reassured me that we had done the right thing in coming here. And then seeing our accommodations at the Carneros Inn confirmed it once again. This place is a mini-paradise, y’all! I cannot recommend it more highly.
The soft muted orange and grey colors everywhere contrast beautifully with the green and every amenity imaginable is here. There’s a gorgeous gift shop, a fabulous spa area, super comfortable suites with clean design, comfy beds, luxurious bathrobes, gorgeous bathrooms with a huge tub and a waterfall shower and an ADORABLE outdoor patio complete with relaxing loungers and heat lamps. I seriously want to live here. . .
I love the aesthetic of this place!
Gorgeous vistas await at every glance.
Y’all, I even love the font! (Is that weird?!)
How fabulous is the contrast of grey, soft orange and white here? Jewelry design ideas abound!
Adorable vignettes beckon you to sit and rest awhile everywhere you look
When I was a young girl of just twelve years old, my father died from heart disease. The effects of this disease are far-reaching and have touched too many dear friends of mine, both young and old, to count. This is a cause that is very near to my heart and I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of helping to raise money for The American Heart Association in this event. Please join us in Houston for a fabulous night of cocktails, light bites and shopping with heart. . .
Where, oh where, did the first two months of this year go? Seriously. Someone needs to slow this spinning world down so that I can catch up! Sheesh. I was just sitting down to do some schedule planning with my precious assistant, Sara, when I realized that next week is (you might want to sit down for this one. . .) March. Yes, March. (I’ll pause a moment while you let that sink in.) I hardly know what to do with myself. And if next week is March, then next week is also Chapelwood’s Spring Thing Market. Man, this one really snuck up on me! Being that this is my tenth year selling at the market, I wanted to share my insider tips. . .
As one of the featured designers at the recent Culture Map Holiday Pop Up Shop on Sunday at Silver Street Studios, I was asked to do an Instagram Takeover of their account for a day. It was my first takeover and it was so much fun! In case you missed the posts, I wanted to share them here – with links to make it easier on you to find just what you’re looking for!
So. Much. Fun. As you know, we were invited to participate in Culture Map’s very first Holiday Pop-Up Shopping Event on December 7th. Culture Map is known for their flawless taste and elegant events and this one combined both. We were over the moon when they called us up and let us know that we had been hand-selected out of all of the Houston-area designers – what an honor! We worked hard to put together the best curated collection for your holiday shopping needs and we had so much fun meeting all of you who attended. It was an incredibly successful event and we are so grateful for the support of our loyal customers like you! We were too busy writing up tickets to take very many photos, but here are a few we did take. . .
We are SO excited to have been invited to be a featured designer at the first-ever Culture Map Holiday Pop Up Shop! Culture has included 25 invite-only designers to show their goodies at the event and help make your holiday shopping season effortless and fun. With music, festive food, cocktails, a man cave to entertain your guy while you shop, free gift wrap and tons of great vendors to shop, your gift-giving tasks just got WAY more fun! (I mean, who doesn’t like shopping with a free cocktail in hand – way more fun!)
Join us next week at one of our FAVORITE markets of the year – St. Martin’s Joy of Giving! The market starts with a preview party Tuesday, October 21st from 6 to 9pm. $15 tickets get you a first look at all of the goodies for sale and appetizers, making it the perfect girls’ night out with your friends! The fun continues with free admission shopping on Wednesday, October 22nd from 9am to 5pm and Thursday, October 23rd from 9am to 3pm.
Houston-based stylist Natalie Weakly knows trends. In fact, she makes it her business to know them. And even better, to help you know them – and how they best work for you. You may remember her from our “Friend Friday” post about her. Natalie loves clothes and jewelry (especially ours – she’s got great taste, right?) but what she’s passionate about is helping you find the clothes and jewelry that work for your look and lifestyle. A self-proclaimed “color obsessed” gal, she has expert opinions on what colors look great – from your closet to your logo to your living room walls.
Today, we took the boys to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Usually, when we go to the museum we hit the dinosaur exhibit. (Like, Every. Single. Time.) We have a membership (which is totally worth it, by the way!) so we go quite a bit. When we go, our boys beg for dinosaurs. Today, however, we convinced them to check out the butterfly exhibit. The Cockrell Butterfly Center is amazing! The plants are stunning, the butterflies are beautiful and although it is quite warm and humid in there, it’s totally worth it. (more…)
